A pair of glasses with polarized lenses is required, not only to protect the eyes, but most of these sky phenomenon
can't be detected without them!

These arcs were brilliant! I ran a hard city block to get my camera. They don't appear this bright too often.
There was also the elusive halo that went with this arc, and I do mean elusive...

I now take my Pentax k1000 to work most mornings, never knowing where or when any sky phenomenon will occur.
Sometimes they appear without warning, as did this arc. Such vibrant colors for a Circumzenithal arc!

Here is a rare shot of a Circumzenithal arc and a sun halo. Usually the halo can be seen without any difficulty,
but to photograph both is a rare treat!
