The Moon...
One of the most observed wonders, and yet, few understand its' moods. I've spent hours and months and years watching
the moon watch me. What a lesson. How many moon risings, how many phases? Cresent, sliver, gibbous, waxing, waning,
full, new. How many colors and shadow casting tones? How many times watching the moon changing its position, from
rising high and strong in the northeast, to its slow, lazy rise in the southeast, all in the course of a year.
The bible explains how God placed the moon in our skies to light the night. Something so beautiful and wondrous.
According to science, the rotation speed of the moon has slowed from its initial speed, to one revolution per 29 days.
This has taken millions of years. Man has been in existence for only thousands of years. Curious why the moon
has come to orbit us, always facing us; and by coincidence (?!), its face resembling the appearance of man...?
Here I have a variety of moon star photos. A couple of times each year the moon will come close to a planet to pose
for a photo! Most of the time the bright star near the moon is a planet.
Another close encounter of the Moon and Venus occured on the night of January 20, 2007. It was
clear and cold, like a January should be...!I also got a shot of the moonset.
I took an interesting shoot of the moon setting on Anchor Bay, on August 21st, 2004.
The moon was dropping down over the lighthouses off in the distance. Notice the mirage
of the moon on the water...

I finally photographed a moon pillar! I missed the oppertunity about a year ago. I
watched this pillar for the whole 30 minute drive up east bound I94 I drove to get home
on the night of 11/13/03. I got home safely and photographed the moon from my back yard.

September marks the appearing of the Planet Mars at its relative closest approach
to the earth. Well, I have a few photos of my own. They are all photographed with
my trusted Pentax K1000, but they don't quite compare to those the Hubble space
telescope has taken. It's just a way to remind me of a previous moment in the years
to come...
I also have a few recent photos of the unannounced jupiter rising with the moon...

Here are my collection of moon photos. It is unbelievable the amount of times you can
see the moon in its varying stages, and still take shots you haven't taken yet!
